Today Manchester Street School lined the street. We were waiting to see Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles. Most of us managed to see them as they drove past. There were lots of cars following them!
Can you spot Prince Charles hand in this picture???
Here are some of Room B with their specially made flags.
Welcome to our blog! We are a year 1 and 2 class at Manchester Street School in Feilding, New Zealand. We can't wait to share our learning with you all.

Junior Cross Country
Wow! We have had a big day at Manchester Street School. All of the Juniors have run their cross-country races. First we all lined up and waited until it was our turn to race. We clapped and cheered for the other runners as they came through the finish line. When it was our turn to race we followed Miss Groombridge to the field. We felt nervous as we waited on the start line! The run was fun, we could feel our hearts beating fast in our chests. We all ran the best we could and didn't stop!!! We all did an amazing job. Some of us even got medals! Check out the photos below:
First, second and third for the 6 and a half year old girls.
Congratulations everyone in Room B and in the Junior Team for their hard work today!!

Harold the Giraffe
Wow! Today we got to go into the Life Education Trust Trailer and meet Harold the Giraffe and Tam. We talked about how to be safe on the playground. There are lots of things we can do, like:
- not running
- taking turns
- wearing helmets on our bikes
- having our parents or an older person watch us
- look after each other!
Room B had lots of fun showing different feelings on our faces. Some people were very good at angry faces and others were good at happy faces. It is ok to feel sad and angry, just like it is ok to feel happy :).
We also met Tam. She taught us about parts of our bodies. We know where our wind pipes are now and where our hearts and tummies are!

Lego creations!
We have been reading all about The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Miss de Burgh decided that it would be cool to build bridges for the Billy Goats to use to get away from the troll. We had to think very carefully about how to build the bridge and what pieces of lego we should use.
Special Visitors
Room B had some special visitors today ... four lambs! Brooke brought them in for her class talk. We learnt that they need to be fed two or three times a day and that they are about 6 weeks old. The lambs drink milk from a bottle. Brooke and Crystal brought in two sets of twin lambs. They were very thirsty and drunk their milk very quickly!
