Disco Fever!

Ginger Bread Men

We have been reading about the Ginger Bread Man this week ... so we decided to make one each to eat!!! Yummy :) 

Worms!!

Mrs Cowan took us for an Enviro day on Tuesday. We learnt so much about rubbish and what we do with it. One way to get rid of our food scraps is to give them to the worms in the nursery. The worms make worms wees that is very good for the garden. 

We spotted a gecko in the       nursery!!

Feilding New World

We had a great trip to Feilding New World today. We got taken through the butchery to see where the meat is cut up and where sausages and mince are made. Then we visited the bakery. We saw the dough being mixed up and the machine that makes dough into balls for buns. We were amazed by the big ovens! Everyone in Room B got a piece of dough to take home AND a yummy bun to eat!!! Thank you Feilding New World!

Making Pasta

We had a special guest come in and help us make pasta on Friday afternoon. We learnt that the main ingredient in pasta is flour, just like in bread. Thank you very much to our Master Chef!

New Friend for Room B

Room B has got a new friend joining them on Monday. His name is Kind Kiwi, he loves it when people look after each other and use caring words.

Some very kind Room B people will get to take him home when they are following the red part of our rainbow and caring about other people. He can't wait to meet you all!!

Friday Feilding Farmers Market

Room B were so lucky yesterday to go to the Farmers Market in town. We had some wonderful parents who came and walked down with us, thank you! 
At the market we saw fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, bread, plants and lots more! It was a great place to go to learn about where some of our food comes from. At the market we each bought a piece of fruit. We made fruit kebabs when we came back.

Making Bread

After a lot of tries here are the pictures of our bread making!
As a class we have learnt about flour and what we need to add to it to make bread dough. 
We all loved tasting our giant jam sandwich!
Some people even had sandwiches with the mung beans and alfalfa sprouts that we sprouted on Enviro day. Others got to try the cress that we have been growing! 

The Snake Cake

This week Room B have been reading a book called 'The Snake Cake' about a Queen who is looking for a special cake for her birthday. Nobody in the town can make a cake she likes ... Until the children make a snake cake from biscuits and icing. 

Mrs Mackie came and helped us make a snake cake, we had so much fun!
